In this position you will……be the Senior Legal Counsel by taking a leading role in managing a broad spectrum of regulatory compliance issues for the United Kingdom, while also overseeing the review and preparation of commercial agreements in the context of wider EMEA partnerships. You will be responsible for… Compliance Drafting and maintaining a comprehensive framework of compliance policies and procedures that addresses relevant applicable regulatory requirements, while ensuring the company’s consistent adherence to them. Repetition of the above Overseeing various reporting obligations to UK regulatory bodies including the FCA. Promoting and embedding a strong compliance culture across the organisation. Acting as subject matter expert on UK regulatory requirements by identifying, monitoring and assessing compliance risk and ensuring they are effectively managed Working in close alignment with the Regional Compliance Manager to ensure integration into the wider regional and global compliance framework and compliance plan. Supporting the Director, Legal and Compliance EMEA, in oversight, challenge, advice, escalation and reporting activities, while liaising with other senior team members and business stakeholders. Implement applicable Group methodologies and framework including compliance risk assessment, planning. Work closely with Regional and Group Legal and Compliance to report on, escalate and mitigate risks and issues. Work with the business and operations functions to effectively manage compliance risks impacting all aspects of the UK business’s value chain (i.e. from product design to distribution compliance procedures). Deliver relevant compliance related training if needed. Legal Identifying and interpreting applicable laws, regulations and other relevant requirements, particularly those affecting the UK business. Identification and mitigation of legal risks. Leading the drafting, review and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, including insurance distribution agreements, service agreements and partnership agreements. Delivering legal services aligned with business strategy in an agile and business-focused manner. Looks to understand bigger picture rationale for changes and adapts in a flexible and nimble manner You will require the following qualifications and skills Minimum of 7 years’ PQE . Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales. Solid experience in Insurance is essential but also financial services and with SMCR. Knowledge of an additional European language (advantageous). Ability to work in a multicultural team and foster strong relationships. Proactivity and an ability to contribute with solutions and ideas at a senior level.
