The Coves is a community based crisis alternative service, provided by Hestia on behalf of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, offering non-clinical support to individuals experiencing a crisis or mental distress, following assessment by the identified CNWL services. We offer urgent appointments to make sure each person gets dedicated time and support.
As a Recovery Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Mental Health Service. Empower service users to engage effectively in their liaisons with professionals within the community such as community mental health teams, social work teams, housing providers, health professionals, Job Centre Plus etc.
Develop co-produced group activities, peer support networks and other community-based approaches to empowering service users to achieve their goals and aspirations and to encourage service users to access these opportunities.
Actively monitor the health, wellbeing, safety and security of the service and its users ensuring all concerns are followed up promptly and in line with procedures
Assist the manager to manage health and safety, repairs and maintenance of the premises.
Empower service users to develop independent living skills as part of a planned move on process.
To work flexibly as part of the team to ensure service coverage and that contractual obligations are met, including being part of the senior team duty rota.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
Knowledge of issues affecting those individuals with a range of mental health conditions including crisis management, how to communicate effectively with these individuals and how to support them with dignity and respect.
Understanding of the principles of recovery as an ethos and a range of recovery approaches.
Awareness of health and safety issues.
Ability to work Monday to Sunday 2pm to 10pm including working bank holidays.
Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.
Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health and/or dual diagnosis issues.
