We are recruiting for a passionate Workshop Shift Manager to join our team based in Derby. The role is an exciting position and will report directly to our Technical Services Manager. What Youll Be Doing: You will be working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, working pro-actively with the opposite Shift Manager to effectively manage the departments productivity and quality, ensuring the department is delivering against KPIs. You will ensure the department operates in the most efficient and cost-effective way, Resourcing and shift balancing across shifts with development of rota systems to support effective resource deployment. Ensuring system and rota are maintained and updated - having redundancy cover within the team whilst identifying periods of growth and contraction as required. You will own the creation and management of the department business intelligence suite of reporting to ensure profit and loss is monitored and acted upon to ensure business unit is successful. Actively driving and supporting new revenue streams whilst building relationships to understand new opportunities. Key Summary of Activities & Responsibilities: Overall responsibility for staff management within the department driving engagement to maximise time and attendance, ensuring department focus on performance reviews and probation management. Maintain a standardise interview approach and questions with robust scoring and assessments. Driving recruitment standards and balance correctly against demand. Control of secure data, ensuring process is auditable and compliant through to disposal whilst reviewing relationship with ITAD suppliers, assessing revenue opportunities within waste streams. To ensure department is kept clean, organising weekly clean-ups. Embracing 5S methodology and ensuring Workplace audits are maintained and corrective actions deployed as required. Control a standardised HDD data control process, controlled in-line with legislation whilst investigating non-destructive data removal options to ensure robust chain of custody of all Data devices. To hold regular meetings with the department to update and receive suggestions to further improve the overall contribution of the area. Own the cross departmental relationship with linked departments, to drive efficiencies and improvements. To ensure all priority and non-priority jobs are allocated to the correct team with the relevant skill sets and being driven to completion. Ensure that all improvement projects are supported to enable completion and evidenced ROI. Directly influence the direction and growth-path of the Workshop and its members. Design and improve processes to ensure success and demonstrate improvements in quality, productivity, efficiencies, cost, driving down FOF engineer failure rates, with training interventions and information releases to support increased effectiveness. Focused on quality and high levels of productivity. Ensure robust stock management and controls are maintained, performing area stock take activities in line with company requirements. Identify infringements of company rules and regulations, and address through to resolution. ensuring the correct work procedures are followed and all work is completed to the highest possible standard. Report on the performance and activities of the department with daily updates including any Health and Safety issues. Control and monitoring of department Health and Safety requirements to include Daily walk around to identify H+S issues with corrective action either immediately or planned. Ensure cover is available for team members not at work due to sickness/holidays ensuring Rota is managed affectively throughout the year. Logging all absence and supporting return to work interviews. Providing teams with information about recent developments, programmes and policy changes via department team meetings and individual face to face interaction. Management and administration of departmental SharePoint site. To support the business within one or more of the following areas

fire marshal and /or first aid. Able to develop all team members using a skills matrix to assess and correct all areas of possible weakness to the operation. CoSHH owner for the department This list is not exhaustive Key Attributes: Ability to motivate and develop employees. Understanding and experience of CoSHH management and legislation Knowledge of soldering / PCB repair advantageous Experience of manufacturing processes such as moulding and 3D Printing preferred. A right first time ethos and the skills to deliver against this approach. An analytical, data driven and progressive approach to problem solving with a considerable focus on data analysis to understand work trends, utilizing data to produce meaningful reporting and making sound decisions on focus areas for improvements to process and cost. ability to understand and manipulate data to show both senior management and reports the reasons for decisions being made. Experience of Power BI would be extremely beneficial. Ability to work in a highly pressurized service delivery environment. Experience of implementing and control of the teams workplace audits to drive accuracy and processes improvements with the use of robust sustainment tools. Ability and drive to become systems subject matter expert. Familiar with IT repair methodologies and core processes Experience in testing and improving processes. WEEE legislation Hot work and associated risks. Data control and management of disposal legislation Proven track record in managing and building an affective team. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365, power BI and SharePoint.
