HGV Mechanic / Technician Section: Fleet Operations and Compliance Hours: 45-50 per week Leicester Heavy Haulage operate a fleet of DAF and MAN vehicles up to 250 tonnes, along with Nooteboom, Scheuerle, Broshuis, Montracon and Dennison trailer equipment, VW vans, forklifts and a Grove crane from our 5 acre site at Ellistown, Coalville. We are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of highly motivated and loyal professionals who work collaboratively to ensure all work is carried out to the highest of standards. The workshop department plays an integral part in the Company's fleet operations, ensuring legal compliance in all areas. The workshop's normal operating hours are Monday to Friday 08.00am to 17.30pm. Saturday hours are 06.00am to 11.00am (Saturdays are overtime and are not guaranteed). Weekly pay. Guaranteed 45hrs minimum £812.50 per week / £42250 a year. Average 50hrs which would work out around £48100 a year + additional phone & steam clean payments. Overtime rates apply. The job requires the successful applicant to work a call out rota. The requirement is to be on call 1 in every 4 weeks. Call Outs paid per night even if the phone does not ring. Overtime rate paid if called out out of hours. Vehicle steam clean payments. 20 Days Holiday + 8 Days Bank Holiday Company Pension Company uniform Free secure parking on site The successful candidate will be a qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle mechanic or be time served with significant experience in all the major elements of goods vehicle repairs including engines, transmission, braking systems and suspension including a basic knowledge of vehicle electrics. Experience of Goods Vehicle MOT preparation is desirable. Must have the ability to work on a wide variety of vehicles and plant including HGVs, LGVs, trailers and forklifts. You will be required to Inspect, Service, Diagnose, Repair Mechanical & Electrical Defects, Brake Test and prepare MOTs, and also complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard. Our workshops also prepare our larger Scheuerle trailers with additional axle lines and Nooteboom trailers with additional extension beams for heavy and long loads. An HGV C+E driving licence would be advantageous.
