The Opportunity As a Pipeline & Portfolio Public Policy Lead, you will drive our enterprise-wide policy agenda for portfolio and pipeline priorities. This dual-focused role will shape Astellas’ positioning on emerging assets while acting as an external advocate, ensuring our company is recognized as a proactive and influential player in key therapeutic areas, including ophthalmology and oncology. Key Responsibilities Serve as the enterprise lead for global policy priorities related to portfolio and pipeline assets. Develop and implement the Global Public Affairs Strategy and Patient Value Enablement Plan for prioritized assets, ensuring alignment across internal stakeholders. Collaborate with Government Affairs leads in key markets (US, Japan, China) to co-develop global strategies. Represent Astellas externally at high-profile industry and policy fora. Build and maintain strong relationships with external industry partners. Essential Knowledge & Experience Proven experience in strategic project management, public affairs, or related fields Ability to drive change within a matrixed, corporate organization Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical business model in global markets Strong cross-functional collaboration, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for diverse audiences, including senior executives. Preferred Knowledge & Skills Experience in the pharmaceutical or broader healthcare industry. Global public affairs experience with exposure to policy strategy development. Background in corporate strategy or transformation offices. Experience with healthcare industry associations at national or regional levels. Education Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Policy, International Relations, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, Economics or related field. Additional Information Type of role: This is a permanent, full-time role. Location: UK This role follows a hybrid working model, blending home-based work with a minimum of 1 day per quarter in the office (to be confirmed based on primary location and business needs).
