Title: Solutions Architect

Location: Gloucestershire-based with occasional travel to Berkshire

Our client is looking for someone with at least 5 years of Solutions Architecture experience to join their dynamic team and help shape the future of cutting-edge IT systems within the highly regulated defence sector. In this role, you’ll be a key player in designing and implementing robust, scalable IT solutions that meet complex business needs while staying aligned with strategic objectives, regulations, and security standards.

You'll collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring solutions not only meet immediate business needs but are future-proofed for long-term success. Projects often involve Manufacturing Operational Infrastructure, so familiarity with PLCs, IoT, or OT is a huge advantage.

You’ll assess current systems, recommend improvements, and oversee the delivery of innovative IT projects that align with business goals. Your expertise will also be critical in guiding the company through technical challenges, ensuring their IT strategy and business objectives stay aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design solutions involving Hyper-Converged Infrastructure or stand-alone systems
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to assess current systems and recommend improvements
  • Lead projects, often involving Manufacturing Operational Infrastructure - experience with PLCs, IoT, or OT is beneficial
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure alignment between IT strategies and business objectives

Desired Experience:

  • Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, and cloud solutions
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
  • MoD Developed Vetting (DV) clearance is mandatory
