To be part of the team responsible for the timely and accurate production of media required within the microbiology laboratory taking responsibility for the quality of the media..
Responsible for the continuous improvement of the business, to help deliver a safe, efficient and high quality operation from sample reception through to results generation.
To help create a welcoming working environment, where quality, efficiency and health and safety underpin the core values of the site, which delivers a sustainable staff experience and customer service.
Knowledge of Laboratory Quality Manual in order to ensure compliance at all times with the policies, procedures and associated documents.
Ensure that Internal Quality Control is maintained and acceptable.
Raise non-conforming work issues related to Quality and investigate using root cause analysis where assigned.
Ensure that customer complaint investigations and client queries are investigated and resolved in a timely manner in conjunction with Laboratory Management and the Customer Services team.
Escalation of issues affecting Quality performance to the Department management team/Local Quality Manager.
Ensure all media quality control checks are performed accurately and in a timely manner in line with the standard operation procedures.
Report and investigate any media quality control failures without delay
To ensure that all equipment is kept within recommended limits for calibration and maintenance in order to adhere to quality targets.
Ensuring that any relevant paperwork related to the quality control of media, EQA and IQC is kept up to date.
Degree in chemistry /microbiology or related discipline and relevant experience of quality systems.
~ Excellent working knowledge of Food Microbiology / Chemistry laboratories accredited to ISO17025/RSA.
~ Good IT skills, Word, Excel & LIMS.
~ Can do’ attitude and be able to deliver change through people management skills.
