Reporting to the VP of Product & Marketing this is a role, requiring the application of Test/Lab as a service and Solutions (TLS) management experience together with technical knowledge of 5G/4G Networks (e.g. The successful candidate will support the identification of new market opportunities, products and services for the VIAVI Wireless portfolio which includes Radio Access, Core Networks, Network and Cloud Infrastructure technologies.
Working closely with the customers, sales and BD to identify, define and generate Solution requirements as well as pricing and business cases.
Working in collaboration with VIAVI Engineering, Product Management and Support teams to develop the Solutions specifications as necessary for development.
Solutions management of the test cases, test case libraries, automation etc for TaaS/LaaS and products, features, technologies and services in the VIAVI network test solutions portfolio. Support BD and New product development planning including market research, identifying business opportunities and competitor landscape and market positioning strategies.
Proficient across multiple technology domains and/or ability to understand and position complex solutions to help customers solve critical business and technical problems.
Comfortable operating at Senior Management and executive level. Well-connected with a documented understanding of the ecosystem, partners, channels and their roles in the development and delivery of new solutions.
Hold an Engineering Bachelors Degree in Electronics or Telecommunications is a minimum and have a strong technical background, with a wide knowledge of Wireless Networking Protocols.
Previous experience within Engineering (research, development or field application engineers), solutions or complex product management.
Business case and competitive analysis
Good understanding of telecoms network topology, services, UE/network Protocol stack (L1 to L7).
Experience with cloud network infrastructure such as AWS/GCP VPCs, IP address allocation, networking drivers and security restrictions is important.
Technologies such as Virtual Machines, Docker, LXC & Kubernetes on Hypervisors such as ESXi/KVM.
Managing products in AWS, GCP and Azure Clouds and working knowledge of cloud-native technologies such as microservices key. Knowledge of RF and Network Tests & Measurement.
Knowledge of networking such as Openvswitch, DHCP, and L3 routing between Nodes & PODs. UX/UI and Automation skills eg Python, Jenkins/Robot.
