Lead Verification and Validation Engineer The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below. Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom We are seeking a Lead Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team in Cambridge. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development, review, and approval of test plans and specifications for electronic systems verification and validation. You will also oversee a team of V&V engineers and collaborate closely with project and engineering teams to ensure the successful execution of test activities. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation, review, and approval of test plans and specifications for the V&V of electronic systems.
  • Supervise a team of V&V engineers to perform verification and validation activities for assigned projects.
  • Understand software strategies and electronic hardware integration to facilitate testing across various setups, including simulation, bench, and vehicles.
  • Lead the integration of systems comprising electronic, mechanical, and software sub-systems, considering their impact on overall vehicle performance.
  • Define test setups and environments needed to perform V&V activities.
  • Maintain existing V&V tool chains and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project and engineering teams to ensure customer deliverables are achieved through planned test activities.
  • Report on technical progress and manage an open issues list to ensure corrective actions are completed.
Experience Required:
  • Experience in defining system test approaches incorporating software, electronics, and mechanics.
  • Familiarity with CAN tools such as Vector CANape and CANoe.
  • Ideally, experience with NI tool chain, LABVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink, and C language.
  • Experience in building software tools for testing, including scripts and regression testing.
  • Experience in the specification, design, building, and validation of Production EOL rigs or similar.
  • Strong background in working with electrical/electronic systems.
  • Ability to plan and execute tests from requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
