The Health Informatics Service is a well-established, innovative, and award-winning digital healthcare and IT specialist. Main duties of the job

As well as knowledge of Antivirus, Malware, SIEM, Firewall, IPS, Patch Management, the successful candidate will require a working knowledge and understanding of the Cyber Security. The postholder will be responsible for full management of day-to-day security operations, improving existing security controls and implementing new security solutions across network, server, cloud, and desktop technologies.

The ability to communicate sometimes complex messages to less knowledgeable audience on a wide variety of IT subjects throughout the healthcare communities is key to this position.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

Essential


  • GCSE Educated or Higher Education level
  • ITIL Foundation for service delivery
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Willingness to undertake professional training relating to the role
  • Regularly review and maintain any attained Registration or Certificates relevant to the post

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Essential


  • Experience in working in the NHS or other large organizations specifically in a senior IT role
  • Good understanding of current security compliance regulations including GDPR, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, DCB1596
  • Must have extensive experience in IT security architecture and system design in relation to security
  • Be well versed in system administration protocols and can adapt to managing several complex systems at once
  • Excellent understanding and experience of troubleshooting of networking LAN / WAN protocols particularly from a security aspect
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft & Linux Operating Systems
  • Be familiar with Mitre ATT& CK framework
  • Be able to perform vulnerability analysis/testing and advise on remediation or mitigation.
  • Have a good understanding of SIEM and EDR technologies for conducting investigations and threat hunting.
  • Experience of implementing and configuring network IDS/IPS systems
  • Extensive knowledge in group policy, active directory security and capacity planning for sites with over 5000 users
  • Demonstrating a solid record of accomplishment in developing agreed objectives and processes to increase efficiency of tasks in post
  • Actively lead on project initiatives where security and data protection are key
  • Previous experience of working in a technical environment where target deployments and prioritizing multiple workloads
  • Aptitude around version control and responsibility for designing resilient security packages in line with strategic planning guidelines
  • Experience in facilitating a change management process (ITIL)
  • Experience in contributing towards organizational change
  • Experience of operating VMware Computers
  • Awareness of Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Act and NHS data storage polices
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data security
  • Substantial knowledge of security intelligence, and products
  • Substantial knowledge of NHS systems and legacy healthcare applications within the IT environment
  • Have managed small projects in regard to new installations of systems and migrations
  • Analyses, investigates and resolves complex IM& T queries and issues/problems e.g. System errors, breaches of security or confidentiality, user requirements which may require configuration of software and hardware, unusual data trends, training requirements based on needs analysis
