We are expanding our litigation capabilities and are looking for a shipping litigation associate or senior associate (dependent on level) to join us in either the Hamburg or the London office – or indeed flexibly in either. Both offices offer hybrid working conditions.  
This is an excellent and unusual opportunity for a solicitor or barrister to join a market leader within the shipping industry, to become part of our truly international team and to play a significant role in the expansion of our litigation practice. You will be based at your choice either in our Hamburg or our London office, with the possibility that you work from both locations.
 
The role will encompass a broad mix of dry shipping and contract advisory work including disputes under charterparties, bills of lading, ship sale contracts, shipbuilding contracts and sale of goods contracts with an opportunity to also undertake some admiralty work. Minimum of 1 years' PQE working in shipping- or commercial litigation;
Strong academic background;
Proven technical skills in contentious shipping-related matters;
Strong legal, analytical and matter management and execution skills;
You will also be expected to play an active role in practice and business development, including writing articles and briefings for ERG publications / clients;
No German language skills required.
