Our client Lloyds Banking Group is a leading UK based financial services group providing a wide range of banking and financial services, focused on personal and commercial customers. On behalf of Lloyds Banking Group, AMS are looking for a People Consultant for a 6-month contract based either in Halifax or Leeds with a hybrid working model .

Purpose of the Role:

In this role, you will support key operational payroll processes, collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery, analyse, and resolve payroll system issues, and undertake data analysis. You'll ensure compliance with payroll/tax legislation and internal policies, and work in a fast-paced environment requiring strong organisational, technical, and communication skills.

As a People Consultant, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to key operational payroll processes and controls.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.
  • Analysing and resolving payroll system or data issues.
  • Undertaking data analysis to support problem-solving efforts.
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll/tax legislation and internal policies.
  • Managing a varied and fluctuating workload independently.
  • Applying risk management principles, including the design and application of controls.

What we require from the candidate:

  • Excellent judgement and the ability to tackle complex problems using influence and sound decision-making.
  • Proven analytical skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge related to payroll systems.
  • UK payroll legislation, or Workday knowledge advantageous.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the confidence to challenge and ask the right questions.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to self-manage a varied and fluctuating workload.
