An opportunity has arisen for a Shift Supervisor to oversee and deliver safe operations, coordinating and directing the activities of the team to ensure quality products are delivered on time through consistent, high performance. The Role The Operations Team plays a key part in the success of our business, through optimising resources and processes, and maintaining high-quality standards for our customers. Our fast-paced operational excellence team is responsible for all day-to-day activities, from planning to production and inventory management. In this role, the individual is responsible for every aspect of the shift, including safety, quality, the performance of the team/shift, and the outputs. In essence, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for maintaining smooth operations and resolving any issues that may arise during their shift. Apart from managing day-to-day operations, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for supporting business projects and continuous improvement activities. Key Responsibilities Promote a behavioural safety Culture that ensures compliance with Health and Safety legislation, Company policies and strives to embed best practice Work with the wider internal teams to deliver Operational Excellence in area of responsibility Responsible for the safe and efficient running of the production area, and championing a 5S/ lean approach Role model and drive high standards of care, attention, and housekeeping with the Company assets and facilities, taking pride in the workplace and minimising safety risk Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are monitored, and targets achieved. Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress any issues Report and act upon machinery concerns/ breakdowns to Engineering Department Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results and ensuring compliance with procedures, operating instructions, and work instructions Manage resource effectively to support customer delivery requirements and Lean Manufacturing principles Undertake performance management responsibility for team members, conducting appraisals, giving direction to drive good performance and addressing any areas for improvement Lead, motivate and proactively communicate with the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced Ensure there are safe, effective, and accessible working practices in place for all areas of responsibility and that there is clear, available evidence to support this Carry out and conduct Return to Works, Absence Management reviews and manage any employee relation issues in line with the Company policies and procedures Through the utilisation of lean manufacturing techniques, strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis Drive efficient work practices by utilising technology within the business Key Skills and Experience Educated to degree level or equivalent experience Previous experience in a supervisory role, preferably within Manufacturing Knowledge & understanding of Lean 5s People Management experience Strong Health and Safety knowledge and awareness Is capable of leading and takes full accountability for deliverables Positive and mature attitude Takes initiative, drives results, and thinks critically to solve complex problems Strong communicator who drives team working and unity High levels of motivation and action orientated A good mediator and negotiator Reflective and able to adapt Personal resilience with a strong commitment to integrity Benefits Company pension Life insurance On-site parking Referral programme Sick pay Wellness programmes Hard-working candidates seeking a rewarding career with a passion for delivering high-quality work are encouraged to apply.
