Senior Database Engineer: SQL Server, Azure, Database, T-SQL, PowerShell

We are supporting a Global Specialty Insurer's initiative to build out their Database function with a dedicated team of Database experts. As part of this expansion, a Senior Database Engineer is required to develop automated solutions in support of a multi-platform environment. In an ever-evolving business, you will have the opportunity to shape the database system & infrastructure, allowing the business to capitalize on streamlined & automated processes.



Working alongside a brand-new team of DBAs and Database Architects, you will be a key player in the development & support of SQL, Oracle and Azure databases. You will have excellent T-SQL & PowerShell programming, deep Microsoft suite knowledge and supporting Database systems & migrations.



This is an excellent opportunity to join a brand-new team and design & maintain scalable and robust databases for a truly Global business



Responsibilities:
Design, implement & support Database infrastructure & administration solutions
Collaborate with DBA and application teams to ensure database performance, reliability and scalability
Support code repository for the DBA team - ensuring code is up-to-date and functional
Set standards and policies for best database practice & identify opportunities for improvement
Participate in the evaluation of toolings, utitiles and applications to assist DBAs


Requirements:
Experience providing database development & support for SQL Server and Oracle
Proven experience supporting the migration of database systems to Azure
Deep understanding of Microsoft SQL, SSRS, SSIS and SSAS. Knowledge of Oracle is also desirable
Strong programming knowledge including T-SQL and PowerShell
Proven background in supporting relationship Database Management System architecture
