Who we are looking for A Junior Information Security Engineer who will focus on IT Security and work alongside other teams, ensuring IT systems are built and operated in a secure manner.

Information Security focuses on the technical side of system design, data security and functional audit. You will work with colleagues within our governance and compliance functions to provide audit capabilities and confirm data is being used within the bounds of regulatory requirements.

The team ranges from graduates to time-served engineers with backgrounds in system administration, networks, service operation and security. The day to day work is fast paced and dynamic as we react to a changing landscape, both from Business priority change and threat landscape.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Knowledge and understanding of the general principles, practices and technologies of information and applications security.
Ability to understand, analyse and apply policies to existing technical environments whilst identifying gaps.
Degree in a related subject or experience in a technical support or operations environment.
Basic knowledge of ITIL principles and IT Security governance frameworks, SIEM practical experience and Microsoft and Linux OS knowledge and basic operation practical skills.
Practical knowledge of Python, Java, and PowerShell.
Ability to examine data packets using Wireshark and other related tools.
Basic understanding of network infrastructure and network engineering topics.

Responding and reporting on system alerts from various monitoring technologies.
Participating in security engineering projects.
