We are excited to be working on this newly created role as Database Specialist for a Environmental Consultancy based in the heart of the City, the purpose of the role is to work on projects that will improve data flows and developing productivity applications’
Collaborating across functions is vital to help identify business process improvements, designing data pipelines and leveraging cloud platforms, building intuitive applications and automations to simplify the workflows, and advise on emerging technologies and opportunities.
The role will require someone accustomed to independently driving initiatives based on the agreed priorities in wide-ranging skills from data management to user experience.
This role would be suited to highly experienced candidates who want to hit the ground running and make a real impact at an organisation both internally and externally. With the pace of technology changing, this is an exciting time to really make a difference in how they leverage data and applications within the organisation and beyond.
Principal Responsibilities

Design, implement, integrate, maintain, and optimise cloud data sources across various functions insuring data is current, available, and accurate.
Design and build user-friendly, visually appealing applications, automations, and digital tools to optimise workflows and streamline processes.
Develop or utilise AI methods and models for data analysis and functionality to be used to simplify processes across the organsation.
Support users with best practice for data manipulation, for example in Microsoft Excel.
Monitor and troubleshoot data and application system and user issues. Continuously improve systems and providing training.
Research and evaluate new and emerging technologies in data and applications; make recommendations for improvements.
Work with third party contractors where necessary, writing proposals, acting as project manager and specialist.
Skills and Experience

Extensive experience in database administration or data warehousing and/or developing business applications. Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
Proficiency developing in Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL server and Power BI.
Coding proficiency in languages such as Python, DAX and SQL and ability to learn new programming languages. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information technology, Computer Science or related with/or proven continual relevant learning.
Knowledge of AI and machine learning processes
Understanding of geospatial data and ETL (Desirable)
Project management experience, Agile (Desirable)

Hybrid - initial training in the office then 50% from home 50% in office
