CNC Turner Setter

This role is based within our Mould Shop and is responsible for delivering high quality equipment to the Production team in a safe and time conscious manner.
Operate and manage Computerised Numerical Control (CNC)
Perform manual and programming for CNC machines to produce high-quality components.
Set up machines, including tooling, workholding devices, and cutting parameters, to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor machining processes, make necessary adjustments, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Perform regular maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic repairs.
Conduct quality control checks using precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
Operate CNC lathes when required, demonstrating versatility in machining operations.
Maintain accurate records of production data, machine performance, and maintenance activities using data entry skills and software such as Excel and Word.
Adhere to 5S principles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Perform tool grinding and management to maintain optimal cutting performance.
5-6 years of experience operating CNC vertical machining centres (VMC) and CNC lathes
~ Proficiency in manual and 2D programming for CNC and VMC machines
~ Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and materials
~ Excellent understanding of quality control procedures and proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
~ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
~ Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for data entry and reporting
~ Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality components
~ Willingness to participate in ongoing training and stay updated with the latest CNC and VMC technologies
