Summer Intern The Taihe Summer Internship Program seeks to draw together passionate international relations aspirants into a diverse environment where they can assist with entry-level tasks whilst simultaneously shadowing and learning from an assigned mentor aligned with the candidate’s area of study. Strong communication skills, a fast learning curve, and a keen interest in the international relations field are key to this role.

Mentors are assigned to candidates according to specialty at the start of the summer and act as a de-facto manager for the duration of the internship. Flexible or part-time work schedules can be created for candidates who have academic or other miscellaneous obligations that would inhibit full time work.

This position is remote. Remote positions are provided access to a communal office workplace but are allowed to operate in locations they prefer. Remote employees may be occasionally requested to attend forums, events, and other functions, for which expenses will be covered.

An in-progress or completed bachelor’s or master’s degree related to International Relations, Economics, Business, Policy, Journalism, or a similar field.
Must be able to communicate in English as a working language.

Keen interest in international relations, economics, and policy. Ability to handle remote responsibilities in a timely fashion without micromanagement.
Familiarity with Microsoft office suite (Office, PowerPoint, Excel)
Skills including video and photo editing, data analysis, automation, financial modeling, and other “miscellaneous” proficiencies are a plus.

Analyze and evaluate current news events.
Assist with media monitoring and reporting.
Assist with data analysis and cleaning.
Assist with video and photo editing.
Assist with proofreading and editing internal and external materials.
Attend monthly People Leadership team meetings as a youth member of the People Leadership team.
Compensation
All Taihe Summer Internships are salaried positions, with pay starting at 15 USD or equivalent currency per hour. An employee’s salary may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Taihe’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, paid time off, and region-specific benefits including time off for relevant cultural observances.

To date, TI has been commissioned for research initiatives by numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations on China’s internal and foreign policies, regional economy, and social development. TI has developed connections with over 60 embassies and diplomatic institutions and has rich academic exchanges with prominent organizations and think tanks all over the world.

TI is also the initiator of the China Institute for Innovation & Development Strategy, a member of the Belt and Road Studies Network and the BRI International Green Development Coalition, and the Chair of the expert committee of the Innovation Center for China-U.Youth Exchange.

TI actively collaborates with international media outlets and publishes its research results through media and its official accounts on various online platforms, including a monthly online English publication, TI Observer.
