We are currently recruiting a

Breakfast Chef (2 days Per Week / Casual (Zero (0) Hours)

to be a part of our main Culinary Heartbeat of the Hotel, the Quadrato Restaurant Kitchen Department.

Set within the historic wharfs and quays of East London, Canary Riverside Plaza is the only five-star independent hotel in Canary Wharf. The 142 spacious guest rooms and suites make for an incredibly comfortable stay, be it for business or leisure, offering stunning views of the River Thames and city beyond. Enjoy the full five-star experience with access to the adjacent Health Club and Spa or indulge with afternoon tea on the sun-filled terrace at the Quadrato Restaurant & Lounge.

Quadrato Restaurant & Lounge offers Italian inspired menus with flavours that are light, fresh and quintessentially Italian. The incredible view of the River Thames and London skyline are best enjoyed from the elegant terrace or on colder days, the soaring windows of the restaurant. The adjacent Quadrato Restaurant & Lounge offers an array of signature cocktails, wine, beer and spirits and is the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap.

Adjacent to the hotel, all guests enjoy complimentary access to a five-star Health Club. Set on the River Thames, the club offers three floors of expansive fitness facilities, including a sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy pools and a 20 metre infinity edge lap pool.

Key qualities we are looking from the Breakfast Chef:

As a Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking all menu stated breakfast dishes to an impeccable and delicious standard with ensuring that all our Breakfast Dishes are presented in an impeccable presentation for all our in house Guests to enjoy.

The main responsibilities for this role would include:

Ensure consistent preparation of all breakfast food items, as per Quadrato Restaurant & Lounge Kitchen Department SOPs. Responsible for preparing, cooking and garnishing freshly cooked breakfast. Demonstrate a committed approach to the development of creative menus and service in the kitchen. Ensure the quality of food is of the exceptional standard expected when dining during Breakfast at Canary Riverside Plaza Hotel. Continually striving towards achievement and improvement. Ensure the Junior Sous Chefs and Executive Chef are kept aware of any relevant feedback from either the guests or team. Assist on other sections or help with other duties when required. Assist with ordering on a daily basis, whilst keeping in mind stock usage, menu planning and business levels. The cleanliness, stock control, organisation and standards of the section. Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions including allergens. Ensure compliance with legal requirements under the Health and Safety Act 1974 and Food Safety, Allergens, COSHH and any relevant compliance.

Being part of the small team, you will demonstrate excellent knowledge and dedicated behaviour. The successful candidate will be highly professional, have excellent communication skills, be well presented and understand the importance of exceptional Guest Service.
