Opportunity Overview - 1 year fixed term contractWe are looking for a full-time Senior Technician to administer the audio-visual facilities within Salford Business School, most notably our Media Studio which offers AV recording facilities to a broad range of School and University members as well as external stakeholders and partners.The postholder will lead on technical and administrative tasks to manage and maintain operational and strategic studio facilities; this is likely to include engineering recording sessions, providing session advice and post-production work, administering studio activities (including bookings), maintaining and procuring studio equipment and representing the studio to a range of stakeholders.The Media Studio contains two audio and visual recording areas; the studio is equipped with broadcast quality microphones and 3 Birddog PTZ cameras with a range of mixing and control equipment. Facilities have been professionally designed and installed.The role holder will also make a significant contribution to all Salford Business School current and planned digital resources. As well as the Media Studio, we have Esports facilities equipped with state-of-the-art gaming PCs and broadcast equipment, a fleet of Virtual Reality headsets running the Bodyswaps app, Lego Serious Play resources and a range of business simulation applications. The role holder will contribute as required to managerial, administrative and operational tasks required to ensure that these exciting developments and existing facilities can be used to their full potential. They will also assist the Technical Lead in everyday oversight of teaching room AV facilities and general advice to colleagues as appropriate.
