Location: Derby Job Description: We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter(s) to join us on a permanent basis in our busy engineering overhaul division. We are looking for a self-motivated person who is able to plan their day using the reports on our internal database and complete work in an organised and timely fashion. A lot of the work we do is rail related so experience of working in the industry would be advantageous. Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on various mechanical equipment.
  • Stripping and rewiring of electrical components as well as electrical testing
  • Ensure all Health and Safety procedures and adhered to at all times
  • Using in house reporting ensure all work is quoted and completed on time.
  • Ensure your workspace in clean and organised at all times.
Skills: Required:
  • Experience of working within a similar role / industry
  • Mechanical experience on vehicles.
  • Detailed oriented and ability to multitask.
  • Logical troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Mechanical qualification.
Desirable:
  • Full, clean driving licence desirable
  • Rail HVAC chiller units and compressors experience would be an advantage
  • Ability to use crimping tools would also be an advantage
  • FGAS qualified as well would be desirable but not required.
  • Proficient in brazing and soldering pipe circuits
  • Electrical knowledge, fault finding and exchanging electrical components

  • Previous experience within a Mechanical / Electrical Fitter position.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work well individually and as part of a team
