E-Trade Property Underwriter (Trading) – Hybrid Location: Stafford (Hybrid) Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive Overview Our client is seeking an E-Trade Trading Underwriter (Property) to join its Property underwriting team based in Stafford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with insurance industry experience who is looking to develop their underwriting career, either by building on existing underwriting exposure or transitioning from another area such as claims, operations, or technical support. You will support the wider underwriting team by assessing and underwriting business in line with the business plan and within your delegated authority, with structured training and guidance provided. Responsibilities Provide efficient technical and general underwriting support to the Property team. Assess, record, and process property insurance risks accurately, ensuring high standards of underwriting governance and best practice. Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, brokers, and customers. Input and maintain underwriting data accurately within relevant systems to support informed decision-making and risk control. Support senior underwriters by completing core underwriting tasks and administrative processes. Prepare and maintain documentation and records to ensure compliance and audit readiness. Assist with the preparation of management information, reports, and performance data to support planning and portfolio management. Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and service delivery within the underwriting function. Requirements Essential Experience within the insurance industry (property or commercial lines preferred), gained in underwriting, claims, operations, broker support, or a related role. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Analytical mindset, comfortable working with data and drawing accurate conclusions. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive problem-solving approach, with resilience and tenacity to see tasks through to completion. Confident user of business systems and tools, including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Desirable Previous experience in an e-trade underwriting environment. Exposure to underwriting authority frameworks and underwriting governance. Experience supporting reporting, MI, or performance data in an underwriting or insurance setting.
