Dunbar Education is pleased to be recruiting for a Head of Science on behalf of an 11-16 mixed academy located in Somerset. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Science teacher to step into a leadership role and make a significant impact on the school's Science department.
About the Role:
As the Head of Science , you will:
- Lead the Science department, managing curriculum planning, teaching, and assessment to ensure high-quality learning and progress across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Support and mentor Science teachers within the department to enhance their professional development.
- Drive the continuous improvement of Science teaching standards and student outcomes.
- Play a key role in the development and implementation of school policies and contribute to the broader leadership team.
What We're Looking For:
- A qualified teacher with QTS and a proven track record of success in teaching Science at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Experience in a leadership or middle management role within a Science department.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to inspire both staff and students.
- A passion for Science education and a commitment to raising standards and fostering a positive learning environment.
