Sybase DBA team is a centralized team and is responsible for managing various flavours of Sybase such as ASE and IQ for across all the applications within FIS. The team is responsible for entire stack from architecting , build, onboarding to production support and is responsible for all the entire lifecycle of a customer.
About the role:
As a Sybase DBA you will be doing the following:
Responsible for Administration of SAP (Sybase) databases.
Management and administration of SAP ASE 16.0, IQ 16.0, IQ 16.1 & Replication Server 16.0
Ability to setup and maintain High-Availability solutions using SAP Replication.
Ability to Install SAP ASE 16.0, IQ 16.0 & Replication Server 16.0 & Apply patches and upgrades.
Ability to setup & maintain database replication MSA, HADR, Table level replication methodologies.
Support Disaster Recovery Testing Exercises.
Analyze and resolve performance tuning and database corruptions issues.
Experience in troubleshooting SAP ASE, IQ and Replication server problems.
Proficient in understanding SAP stored procedures.
Experience in working with third party database administration tools.
High level experience with UNIX Shell/Perl scripting.
Knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administration relevant to database management.
Ability to manage large, complex databases with replication.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good verbal and email communication skills.
Willing to learn Advanced technologies such as Cloud ,AI , Automation etc. & Knowledge upgrade.
Willingness to Weekend shifts and On-Call rotation.
Willingness to work in a Team environment.
About the team:
Total team consist of 8 Sybase DBA across India and UK
Team provides 16*5 DBA support plus planned weekend changes.
What you will be doing:
~ Meets commitments and provides excellent customer service at all times with internal and external clients.
~ Provides status reports (written and/or verbal) that are detailed to tasks and difficulties encountered – enables managers to initiate escalation if necessary and assess areas where changes or additional support may be warranted.
~ Ensures issues resulting in customer outage is escalated appropriately through TSG management.
~ Assists application groups with design development that meet current and future business requirements:
~Participates in logical design process of strategic projects and responsible for the physical design/implementation.
~ Provides specific direction on infrastructure design to support applications..
What you will need:
~5 to 10 Years of experience in SAP (Sybase) databases.
~ Management and administration of SAP ASE 16.0, IQ 16.0, IQ 16.1 & Replication Server 16.0 Ability to setup and maintain High-Availability solutions using SAP Replication.
