Internal Grade F Job Description Experian Credit Services & Verifications are looking to recruit an experienced Economist to join our Economics Team. You will to support the economists in building and running models and producing analysis and forecasts for a range of regular client services and consulting projects. The Team The economics team work across several economics and credit risk services and consultancy, specialising in model-driven forecasts and analysis for the UK's economy, credit markets, regions, sectors and socio-demographic segments. Examples of the scope of client projects recently undertaken include building expected credit loss models, stress testing and running local area economic impact projections. Clients include first and second tier banking and financial services commercial real estate, retail and planning companies and the public sector. This team have a great track record for successful career development and establishing career pathways from Junior Senior leadership. This is a hybrid position based in Nottingham reporting to the Senior Economist. What you will do as an Economist Data preparation, analysis, modelling and forecasting. Work with large datasets from both public sources and Experian's in-house databases. Use econometric software, including R and EViews, to manipulate and forecast datasets, and excel and other programs. Support the senior econometrician in reviewing and refining existing models. Support projects to develop econometric & credit forecasting models and processes for both consulting projects with external clients and in-house use. Written analysis of trends in the UK economy, regions and credit markets. Opportunities to present forecasts and analysis to partners. Ensure that you follow all regulatory requirements. MSc or undergraduate degree in Economics, Econometrics or related discipline. Candidates with degrees with a focus on macroeconomics, statistics, mathematics and econometrics are encouraged to apply. Experience presenting economic and macroeconomic data. Relevant experience building econometric models and producing macroeconomic forecasts. Familiarity with UK data and analysis of any of the following would be desirable: UK regions/local areas, credit markets and the housing market. Work on multiple economic and macroeconomic focused projects simultaneously. Experience with programming focused on R, EViews & Excel (can perform complex functions) experience.
