Emergency Response and Crisis Management Lead Associate

Role Purpose The Emergency Response & Crisis Management Lead Associate will strengthen Ocean Winds’ ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from major incidents and emergencies. This role leads the design, implementation, and governance of emergency response (ER) and crisis management (CM) systems, ensuring readiness across global operations and alignment with regulatory, industry and company requirements. Key Responsibilities Emergency Response Planning: Lead the development and implementation of Ocean Winds’ global ER framework, plans, and procedures. Ensure alignment across sites and regions with relevant regulations, standards, and best industry practices. Conduct periodic risk assessments and scenario analyses to test resilience and adapt plans. Crisis Management Readiness: Establish and maintain a global crisis management framework and escalation protocols. Support crisis management teams at corporate and regional levels, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities. Lead crisis communication protocols in coordination with H&S leadership and Corporate Communications. Training & Exercises: Develop and deliver ER/CM training (tabletop and simulation exercises) for leadership and operational teams. Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and updating plans, procedures, and training accordingly. Embed a culture of preparedness by promoting awareness and engagement across the business. Incident & Recovery Coordination: Act as key liaison during emergency and crisis events, coordinating activities between site, regional, and corporate levels. Support post-incident recovery planning, ensuring continuity of business-critical operations. Oversee after-action reviews and ensure corrective actions are implemented globally. Governance & External Representation: Maintain compliance with statutory ER/CM requirements across jurisdictions. Report ER/CM readiness to senior leadership and stakeholders. Represent Ocean Winds in industry forums, regulators’ consultations, and emergency mutual-aid networks. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Health & Safety, Emergency Management, Security, Risk Management, or related field. Proven experience in emergency response and crisis management within energy, offshore renewables, oil & gas, or other high-risk industries. Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and international standards (e.g. ISO 22301 Business Continuity, FEMA/NIMS, UK COMAH, EU Directives). Track record in planning/exercising ER/CM capabilities at local and enterprise levels. Knowledge & Skills Demonstrated leadership in high-pressure situations with rapid decision-making capability. Strong facilitator and trainer, able to run exercises and engage all levels of the business. Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex requirements clearly to executives, frontline teams, and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple sites/regions simultaneously. Proficiency in MS Office, incident management and mass-notification systems. Location Role based in Edinburgh with potential for domestic and international travel.
