Instrumentation & Control Industrial Placement – Major UK Energy Project
Duration: 12 months Our client, a leading name in the UK’s energy sector, is offering an exciting 12-month industrial placement within their Instrumentation & Control (I&C) division. This opportunity gives students the chance to gain hands-on experience at one of the country’s most ambitious engineering and infrastructure developments — a site that will play a vital role in powering the UK for generations to come. The role involves supporting experienced engineers, contributing to safety and reliability initiatives, and applying academic knowledge to live technical challenges. Typical projects may include:
Supporting condition monitoring and performance improvement programmes.
Contributing to safety campaigns and radiation protection measures.
Assisting with the design, testing, and analysis of control systems used on site.
This is a structured placement with clear learning objectives and access to mentoring from seasoned professionals, ensuring participants develop both technical expertise and soft skills essential for a career in engineering.
The placement is ideal for students working towards a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK from the start date.
