Production Engineer £35,000 plus benefits Permanent position for a Production Engineer to be part of a specialist production engineering team ensuring components are fully reviewed and engineered for production on our clients comprehensive range of CNC machine tools. As a Production Engineer you will use your technical skill along with relevant software packages to fully engineer a wide range of components ready for manufacture. Building strong relationships with the on-site manufacturing team as well as the Design and Quality engineers. Duties for the Production Engineer

  • Complete comprehensive review of intent parts for tolerances and suitability for manufacture
  • Design machining fixtures for production components using Open Mind hyperCAD-S 3d modelling software.
  • Produce suitable CNC programs, using the latest Open Mind hyperMILL software.
  • Identify and specify the most appropriate cutting tools to ensure efficient removal rates.
  • Liaise with both production and design teams to support the economic and efficient manufacturing of components.
  • Act as point of reference for resolution of production related issues.
  • Work with sales dept to offer technical support as required.
  • Focus on the business KPIs to achieve departmental objectives.
Skills required for the Production Engineer
  • Ideally you will have been an experienced and skilled CNC machinist within a precision manufacturing environment.
  • You will also have worked with castings and have an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Have a keen eye for detail and are extremely well organised.
  • Strong computer programming skills using relevant CAD / CAM software packages.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to influence key stakeholders.
