The successful candidate will be part of the pastoral team whose main aim will be to support emotional regulation, wellbeing and support successful access to learning. Job Responsibilities:

  • Promote student independence in learning and the development of social and emotional skills. Reinforce students' self-esteem through praise and encouragement, set challenging and demanding expectations, and encourage independence.
  • Establish and maintain contact with the families/carers of supported students to keep them informed about their needs and progress, and to ensure positive family/carer engagement.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the range of agencies and activities available to support vulnerable students.
  • Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with each other, and engage all students in learning activities.
  • Use a variety of assessment tools to identify students' underlying needs and issues, then provide mentoring and coaching to help them address these challenges.
  • Monitor the progress, achievements, and development needs of individual students, working closely with the Inclusion Manager.
  • Deliver one-on-one and small group mentoring/coaching sessions for students, focusing on Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) interventions.
  • Advocate for identified students by taking a lead role in their support and progress, maintaining regular interventions and liaising with staff, parents/carers, and relevant agencies.
