Senior Trading Java Developer
As a Barclays Senior Trading Java Developer, you will be performing activities related to the development, unit testing, deployment, support, and maintenance of an in-house electronic trading application used by the Fixed Income Rates business. At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Helping to define the overall target architecture
• Engaging in detailed technical discussions with other senior developers
• Engaging with trading, product teams and partnering with first-line support teams
• Working with the Business to analyse requirements for system implementation
• Maintaining and enforcing project standards ensuring they are adhered to
• Undertaking analysis of change requests, incidents against applications and products within domain
Solid experience in major programming languages such as Java or C++.
• Experience building enterprise scale desktop and/or web applications
• Solid experience in JavaScript, Angular 2 web development framework, HTML5 and CSS
• Knowledge and experience of software development and collaboration tooling including Git, BitBucket, Confluence, JIRA, and the like

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Familiarity with Kafka and working knowledge of UNIX platforms
• Familiarity with utilising Agile Development methodologies, Test Driven Development and Continuous Delivery
