What will you be doing?

As an External Quality Assurer, your duties and responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

  • Ensure that products are delivered by centres in line with NOCN requirements including the relevant regulatory conditions, Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education criteria, sector body assessment strategies and product specifications.
  • Develop and maintain an overview of the quality of delivery for all NOCN products within allocated centres, liaising with contracted External Quality Assurers (EQAs) as required.
  • Plan the type and frequency of external quality assurance activity based on the risk-rating of centres, communicate the planned activity to centres and complete the NOCN planning database in a timely manner.
  • Undertake external quality assurance in line with NOCN policies, procedures and guidance including by sample checking that the delivery of NOCN products adheres to NOCN requirements and centre policies and procedures.
  • Provide high quality reports for centres using NOCN report forms and make the reports available for centres in line NOCN service standards.
  • Maintain or adjust the risk-rating of centres based on the quality of delivery of NOCN products.
  • Review applications for new Centre Approval and applications from existing centres to add products to their offer and provide reports in line with NOCN procedures.

About you...

The successful candidate will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent.
  • Educated to Level 4 or above.
  • Construction NVQ.
  • Committed to continuing professional development.
  • External quality assurance qualification.
  • Experience of undertaking external quality assurance of qualification delivery.
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment.
  • Experience of proactively evaluating and reviewing business procedures, process and systems.
  • Experience of working productively across teams.
  • Willingness to travel.
