Do you have experience working in a fast-paced environment and have strong attention to detail? We are looking for a Materials Technician to join the Quality Operations department at Sartorius Stedim BioOutsource. In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily activities related to incoming customers samples.

The overall team consists of 3 people, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you. This position is available full-time. It is an onsite role in Glasgow, at West of Scotland Science Park.

Your Responsibilities:

  • On a daily basis you will visually inspect incoming shipment of customers samples ensuring quality of the shipment before releasing them to testing departments.
  • You will record the booking in of samples into the sample management system.
  • You will be liaising with couriers ensuring correct receipt of shipment and smooth shipment of client materials to customers.
  • You will ensure discard of samples already tested, materials that are no longer required, and maintain back up samples.
  • You will review customer supplied documentation to ensure the correct samples are received.

Do you enjoy communicating with customers? You will provide updates to customers regarding the shipping and receipt of their test materials.

In addition, you will be following the health and safety policies, SOPs and maintain them in day-to-day activities. You will also manage the download, interpretation and return of temperature data loggers for shipments.

What will convince us:
  • You may be educated to Higher level or equivalent.
  • An interest in working in a scientific environment.
  • Previous experience working in a stock or storeroom within a regulated environment.
  • Being motivated to learn and can meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & have strong organizational skills.
  • You posses good communication and written skills and has good attention to detail.
  • Being a team player is important in this role and the ability to follow correct procedures and quality standards.
