Role Overview:

As the Lead Contracts Manager for the WTG & Foundations packages, you will be responsible for leading the commercial, contractual, and risk management aspects of these critical elements of our offshore wind projects. You will oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, working closely with suppliers, engineering, legal, and project teams to ensure the packages are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires a deep understanding of contract management in the renewable energy sector, particularly for offshore wind projects, along with strong negotiation and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Development & Negotiation:
  • Lead the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of contracts for WTG and Foundations packages, ensuring alignment with project objectives and risk management principles.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate terms that maximize value and minimize risk.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks related to WTG and Foundations packages.
  • Work closely with legal and risk teams to manage claims, disputes, and contract amendments.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders including project management, engineering, procurement, and legal teams to ensure contract alignment with technical specifications and project timelines.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Contract Execution & Management:
  • Monitor contract performance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with terms, conditions, and deliverables.
  • Manage change orders, variations, and contract extensions in collaboration with project teams.
  • Track key contract milestones and ensure timely delivery of contractual obligations.
  • Budget & Cost Control:
  • Manage budgets and financial aspects related to WTG and Foundations contracts, ensuring cost control and financial reporting.
  • Support the project finance team in forecasting, cash flow management, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare regular reports on contract status, financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits, claims, and contract closeout.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience in contract management, with a focus on large-scale offshore wind or renewable energy projects.
  • Proven track record of managing complex contracts for WTG and Foundations packages.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of WTG and Foundations technology, supply chains, and market dynamics.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for offshore wind projects.
  • Contractual Expertise:
  • In-depth knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, and other relevant contract forms used in the offshore wind industry.
  • Expertise in managing contract negotiations, risk assessments, and dispute resolution.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in contract management (e.g., RICS, IACCM) are desirable.
