The Role

  • You will work very closely with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver outstanding financial support and strategic decision making for the business.
  • As the company continues to grow, it gives you the opportunity to put your own stamp on the future of the finance function, building the right foundations for the future finance framework.

Key responsibilities

The Head of Finance role is accountable for day-to-day operations and long-term strategy, and is expected to:

  • Develop and/or introduce robust financial systems
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting and planning process
  • Develop strong relationships with key internal/external stakeholders
  • Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team, and support creation of growth opportunities
  • Prepare annual accounts and VAT reporting
  • Oversee all financial matters including month end reports, cash flow management, statutory accounts, compliance and track performance versus KPIs
  • Management of share issues and equity, shareholder reporting, and preparation of financial information for any future fundraising exercises

Key requirements:

  • BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant alternative as a minimum (MSc/MBA or relevant qualification (eg: CPA, CFA) would be beneficial
  • Prior experience in a Head of Finance or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management, bank reconciliation and bookkeeping
  • Proficiency in accounting software
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Prior knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models

Process

The recruitment process will usually consistof two parts:

  1. Long-listed candidates will be invited to an Initial Telecom/screening interview which normally lasts ~30 minutes. This involves an introduction and background information about the company and a brief question and answer session.
  2. Short-listed candidates will then be invited to a Face to Face interview, which will usually take place at the company offices in Belfast.
