Part-time – 3 days

Hybrid working – 1 days in office, 2 remote

Salary - £24,000 (Full time equivalent)

We are looking to grow our Helpline Team to provide information, support and signposting to members of the public on a wide variety of allergy matters via our telephone helpline and other communication platforms.

We work with government, professional bodies, healthcare professionals and corporates towards our vision and to help improve the lives of the millions of people with allergic disease. It is estimated that 41 million people in the UK live with allergic disease. But there remains a huge gap in healthcare services for those affected by this disease of the immune system. Our aim is to raise the profile of allergy at all levels, with a vision for everyone affected by allergy to receive the best possible care and support.

As a Helpline Advisor, you will:

  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of service users from a variety of different sectors including the general public, healthcare professionals, Education and childcare, Food businesses and other external organisations.
  • Accurately enter service user information into a database, creating contact records and recording significant information from telephone calls and webchat transcripts.
  • Adhere to General Data Protection Regulations, and the Data Protection Act including any other relevant legislation is adhered to at all times.
  • Assist with telephone orders for translation cards, processing payments and preparing the cards for mail out.
  • Escalate any concerns or complaints to the relevant manager especially where the call nature requires understanding, awareness or action by a senior manager.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have previous experience in a customer facing role
  • Be an effective communicator across diverse audiences
  • Be able to demonstrate empathy
