United Kingdom Sfexecutive Full time

The Organisation

Headquartered in Oxfordshire, our client is a fast-growing, private-equity backed business that manufactures value-add products for the construction sector. They currently operate across multiple sites, and boast numerous high-profile projects in their portfolio. They have ambitious growth plans in place, and as they continue their exciting journey, they are keen to establish a consistent "people first" ethos across every site and element of their business. To this end, they are looking to hire a Human Resources Director to shape the people strategy and culture of the organisation.

The Role

This is an ideal role for an HR professional that is familiar with devising / modernising / implementing a wide-ranging people strategy. As the Human Resources Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's workforce strategies, and contributing to the company’s continued growth. You will ideally have sector relevant experience (manufacturing / construction / distribution / logistics), to support your leadership of the HR function. Line managing a team of your own, you will work closely with the other members of the senior leadership team by balancing the day-today needs of the HR function with facilitating the organisation’s overarching people strategy and management of risk, whilst helping to drive forward the objectives and positive people culture through the organisation's core values.

In this wide-ranging role, you'll take ownership of the organisation's HR strategy, and with your team you will own the recruitment (and retention) strategy, devise and implement an L&D programme, devise a reward & recognition strategy, advise on risk and employment law issues, and build an exciting and attractive national and local employer brand. As the organisation further pushes forward with its acquisition strategy, you’ll need to know your way around TUPE processes.

The successful Human Resources Director will:

  • have worked in a similar senior Human Resources leadership role, balancing the strategic and operational elements perfectly
  • ideally have experience of delivering successfully in a Private Equity-backed organisation
  • be educated to a Degree or MSc level in Human Resources and/or hold or be actively working towards the Level 7 CIPD (holding CIPD membership)
  • have in-depth knowledge of UK employment legislation and pending changes
  • have experience of working in a multisite environment in one of the following sectors - manufacturing / construction / distribution / logistics
  • have a keen working knowledge of an organisation's operational processes and procedures
  • be familiar with the Levy and apprenticeship scheme
  • be proficient in IT systems, including the implementation of new HR business applications on a group wide scale
  • act with integrity, being pragmatic and able to deal with ambiguity
  • have experience and sound knowledge of TUPE arrangements and Pension Schemes
  • be able to communicate with stakeholders of all levels
  • be commutable to Oxfordshire, and prepared to travel to other UK sites

Package

Fantastic salary, car allowance and wider package (including equity)
