Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is embarking on a programme of radical change to meet the challenges of modern local government, public service reform and integrated health/social care. Fast paced improvement across the Council is being driven by a highly motivated, integrated leadership team, who are pushing the boundaries to dramatically change culture, modernise services and identify innovative ways to manage service demand.
Our recently appointed Assistant Director of Strategic Property and the Director of Place have undertaken a review of the Directorate's services and have restructured to align all Council property related functions and integrate with Council’s Strategic Property Service.
The role will work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Strategic Property to lead, plan, deliver and develop an expert Facilities Management Service. Leading and embedding a Corporate Landlord approach to ensure effective management of council services and operational property whilst ensuring the Council maximises service outcomes in relation to financial planning, cost estimation and budget management taking a whole life cost approach.
To act as the Intelligent Client, Tameside Council outsources its FM Services to an external provider and the principal responsibility is to manage the external contractor and ensure a quality service is delivered against Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), and to ensure the services are delivered within budget and agreed timescales across a complex and diverse service. In addition, this role will lead and develop a professional Capital Programme delivery service aligned to the councils Capital Strategy and Strategic Asset Management Plan objectives, including supporting the development and delivery of a five-year rolling capital investment programme.
You will consistently deliver programmed projects on time, within budget and to defined quality standard and customer expectations. Also ensuring the development and management of a substantial programme of activity that will support the Council and the Borough’s transition to zero carbon.
As a member of the Corporate Facilities Management team and the Strategic Property Services wider Team you will play a key role in the delivery of Council and Growth Directorate priorities.
You may work with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, including Schools, Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, to achieve optimum results.
