The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for designing and installing new systems of a process nature. Assessing, supporting and troubleshooting systems already installed and utilised for production. Providing technical and process safety advice to the others within and outwith the Process Engineering department as required. Help to ensure Safety is First Priority in all aspects of Process Engineering design and Operation
Formulate, assess and recommend process designs and improvements to enhance product and process performance, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and legislation to ensure safe and sustainable operation and justifying the proposals on a financial basis.
Lead on defining, planning, and organising all aspects of a project including financial evaluation, control of budgets and timescales to meet the stated objectives of that project.
Ensure the specification of all items of plant equipment required for a project meets safety, sustainability, and plant performance targets, and be able to offer advice to others on plant selection and specification.
Perform and advise on commissioning and testing of new plant or systems, assessing their suitability for their stated purpose, and monitoring the performance once the system is live.
Plan and implement system and process training, on both new and modified plant.
Supervise and control any external contractors that are utilised both on and off-site during project life cycles to ensure that they are working to timescales, budgets and design criteria.
Work with other sites to determine best practice within Process Engineering and advise strategies to achieve better alignment across factories.
Be proficient in Process Hazard Analysis to ensure the safety of all process designs and improvements.
Must be experienced in the use of AutoCAD.
Should be educated to Degree level in an Engineering discipline (preferably Chemical) or have 5+ years of experience within the process industries.
Must be familiar with Risk Assessment methods and should have a good grounding in HAZOP techniques.
Should have good all-round project management skills, and be able to ensure completion of multiple concurrent projects within the stated boundaries of cost and time.
Should be able to offer expertise on process plant design, evaluation, and construction materials.
