We are now recruiting for a Senior Project Engineering Manager to join us permanently on our major project located in Warrington.

The Senior Civils Project Engineering Manager is responsible for the coordination, implementation and performance of engineering activities for an assigned project. Maintains a close working relationship with Project Managers and Engineering.

  1. Assists with the establishment and implementation of project manpower needs and coordinates technical activities among disciplines.
  2. Identifies and ensures compliance with all statutory and licensing requirements.
  3. Conducts the design of a technically sound, safe and operable plant with a high degree of reliability.
  4. Prepares and issues Engineering Execution Plans and ensures that all necessary and appropriate customer requirements, procedures and standards are incorporated.
  5. Compiles lists from each discipline to develop a master document list for the project.
  6. Works with project stakeholders to develop subcontract and work package descriptions that are consistent with the contracting plan for the project.
  7. Coordinates development of work-hour estimates and transfers information to Project Controls for preparation of engineering cost estimate.
  8. Cooperates with other departments in the company participating on the project.
  9. Schedules and coordinates meetings between Project Engineering, the customer and other outside groups.
  10. Keeps project stakeholders advised of project progress, performance and manpower utilization with attention to delays, adverse trends, errors and omissions.
  11. Assures proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc. that affect the conduct of the project.
  12. Coordinates the customers engineering comments, approvals and requests with the functional activities of all disciplines.
  13. Encourages and assists in the technical and managerial development of subordinates.
  14. Coordinates Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management.
  15. Reviews engineering performance on the project to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design and completeness of engineering tasks.
  16. Promptly reviews Design Change Notices (DCN), identifies change order candidates, segregates cost collection and assists the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management.
  17. Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Ideally hold a degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
  2. Ideally Chartered or working towards.
  3. Held similar engineering management position.
  4. Proven experience within a highly regulated construction sector (including commissioning).
  5. Knowledge of safety case justification.
  6. Sound understanding of building regulations and planning submissions of CDM regulations.
  7. Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process.
