Field Service Engineer – Electrical Bias

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Field Service Engineer – Electrical Bias to join a forward-thinking Company. You will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance tasks including replacement, upgrades or additional works for all supplied systems. My client is responsible for the Sales and Service support of the world’s most advanced Propulsion and Power systems across industry sectors such as Naval, Superyachts, Commercial Marine and Land-based systems.

Carry out Commissioning, Service and Repair of IPMS, Propulsion and Power Systems to ensure that all products and systems are ready for operation. Knowledge share and support the on-the-job development of others where appropriate.
Provide emergency on-call coverage as part of the Service Engineers’ call-out rota.
Support other service and sales activities as directed. Travel: the role will require regular travel within the UK & ROI and may be additionally required to spend time overseas, including product training in Germany and deployment overseas to any asset, either in port or potentially at sea under “Contractors On Deployed Operations” (CONDO) working arrangements.

Appropriate qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar relevant qualifications or demonstrable industry experience.
PLC Systems experience required
Understanding of Electrical drawing
Be able to fault find/Electrical Testing
Capable of making judgements on technical problems with moderate scope and complexity and where the maintenance solution is not always clear cut and will rely on practice and experience to evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures.
Proficient in MS Office and PC-based Engine Diagnostics software. On-the-job training will be provided for the relevant business IT systems.
Technically competent and experience in marine Propulsion and Power products.
