About:

We're searching for an enthusiastic and innovative Associate Electrochemist to join the team. You will collaborate closely with the senior Electrochemical Engineer to accelerate the technological development. The cutting-edge technology combines geomimicry with electrochemistry with the aim to accelerate both the speed and scale of carbon capture and sequestration.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize electrochemical components to improve performance and efficiency
  • Research and evaluate water electrolyser architectures, electrode materials, and operational variables for scale-up and commercialization
  • Implement process control strategies to optimize electrolyser operation
  • Conduct experiments using electrochemical characterisation techniques to validate design and assess performance
  • Research electrode materials for cost-effective and enhanced performance
  • Collaborate with the Electrochemical Engineer on experimental studies
  • Contribute to scaling electrochemical processes from lab to commercial scale
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for the team and stakeholders
  • Manage your research and development pipeline to ensure timely project completion
  • Support supplier management by evaluating materials and components for electrochemical processes
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements
  • Maintain high safety standards in process design and handling of hazardous materials
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot and resolve process issues

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Ideally 3 years of experience in water electrolyser design and optimization
  • Ideally 3 years of experience in electrode chemistry and performance testing
  • Advanced knowledge and experimental experience in electrode characterisation, electro-catalysis, water electrolysis (HER and OER), and electrochemical technology development
  • Proficiency in laboratory equipment and safe laboratory practices
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
