We're searching for an enthusiastic and innovative Associate Electrochemist to join the team. You will collaborate closely with the senior Electrochemical Engineer to accelerate the technological development. The cutting-edge technology combines geomimicry with electrochemistry with the aim to accelerate both the speed and scale of carbon capture and sequestration.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize electrochemical components to improve performance and efficiency
- Research and evaluate water electrolyser architectures, electrode materials, and operational variables for scale-up and commercialization
- Implement process control strategies to optimize electrolyser operation
- Conduct experiments using electrochemical characterisation techniques to validate design and assess performance
- Research electrode materials for cost-effective and enhanced performance
- Collaborate with the Electrochemical Engineer on experimental studies
- Contribute to scaling electrochemical processes from lab to commercial scale
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for the team and stakeholders
- Manage your research and development pipeline to ensure timely project completion
- Support supplier management by evaluating materials and components for electrochemical processes
- Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements
- Maintain high safety standards in process design and handling of hazardous materials
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to troubleshoot and resolve process issues
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
- Ideally 3 years of experience in water electrolyser design and optimization
- Ideally 3 years of experience in electrode chemistry and performance testing
- Advanced knowledge and experimental experience in electrode characterisation, electro-catalysis, water electrolysis (HER and OER), and electrochemical technology development
- Proficiency in laboratory equipment and safe laboratory practices
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment
