Job Title - Associate Commercial Specialist - Business Process Outsourcing, Research and Income Generation Salary - £82,600 - £100,938+ up to 15% PRP Location - London, Birmingham, Liverpool The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is one of the largest procurement organisations in Europe, providing commercial services to the public sector by improving the way we buy “common goods & services”, driving efficiency and saving money for the taxpayer and using government’s buying power to support the economy. CCS advises and negotiates on behalf of all government departments and the wider public sector to obtain better value services, engaging with the market and defining world class category strategies which help make the procurement process faster, less costly and more effective for suppliers and buyers and to actively improve the value gained from contracts across government. Job description The role will see you leading a commercial team across all 3 category areas. This leadership role covers three diverse and high-impact category areas within the Crown Commercial Service (CCS): Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Research, and Income Generation. Business Process Outsourcing (BPO): A fast-growing category directly impacting front-line services, covering flexible contact centre operations and internal functions (HR, finance, payroll, source-to-pay procurement). You will work with the market, Central Government Depts and the Wider Public Sector to transform public services for citizens and employees. Research : Commercial solutions providing market, social, and economic research services that are critical for informing Government Policy across the Public Sector. Income Generation : One of CCS's newest areas, developing commercial solutions to generate public sector revenue, helping organisations unlock the value of their assets and implement compliant, income-generating initiatives. This position involves leading a commercial team across all three categories, driving innovation and value for the public sector. Person specification Key Responsibilities: Leading as part of a small team managing Outsourced Business Services, Research and Income Generation, reporting to the Deputy Director of Professional Services within CCS and, adept at dealing with complexity and scale. Use your people skills to proactively build and maintain strong and credible relationships of influence with senior stakeholders and suppliers to further develop your in-depth knowledge of the Outsourcing markets acting as a source of expert insight and advice for the public sector; Continually gain business and market insight and explore innovative approaches to deliver better outcomes in cost and service; Lead the development and execution of a long-term category strategy delivering best in class commercial arrangements for the public sector; Identify and deliver value to the nation through all available commercial and demand levers and manage performance reporting of value; The role is a critical contributor to developing the wider CCS organisation and interpersonal skills (emotional intelligence) and change leadership are key characteristics required. You will operate as a leader as part of the wider Government Commercial Function across the Civil Service whose primary aim is to deliver improved value and commercialise the Civil Service Ideally you will hold MCIPS or be willing to work towards it.
