Job description

CL:AIRE is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which develops best practice guidance, improves industry performance and promotes the work of its members in the field of sustainable land management.

 

Summary

CL:AIRE is seeking to appoint a Land Quality Project Manager to join the team at management level to lead projects and task groups within the industry. This full-time role, based in our central Reading office, offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in land management and actively contribute to advancing industry standards.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Management of the Aggregates Task Group and development work.
  • Industry engagement, including the presentation and promotion of DoW CoP and other CL:AIRE initiatives.
  • Undertake Technical Secretariat duties, including Carbon and Earthbank projects.
  • Drive project audits, liaising with Qualified Persons and ensuring high-standards within project audit trails.
  • Write Technical proposals and reports.
  • Creation of case studies within the DoW CoP.
  • Reviewing and updating website technical content.
  • Supporting the delivery of CL:AIRE training provisions.
  • Managing general technical enquiries.
  • Support with DoW CoP project audits.
  • Elevate standards within the organisation by enhancing processes and capabilities.

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • First degree in Earth or Environmental Sciences, or a related field; MSc in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology with a focus on Land Quality is preferred.
  • Experience in geo-environmental consultancy, particularly in the built environment focusing on contaminated land.
  • Familiarity with Aggregates Quality Protocol and DoW CoP, land quality guidance, and legislation.
  • Strong project management and auditing experience.
  • Highly numerate with the ability to manage large datasets.
  • Proven ability to produce high-standard written reports and present technical information clearly.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with industry engagement experience.
  • Attention to detail and self-management skills.
  • Membership in a relevant Professional Institute is preferred.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK without restriction.

This is a full-time role, but we are happy to consider part-time hours for the right candidate.
