Baird and Co Recruitment, a specialist Social Housing recruitment firm, are currently recruiting for an interim Surveyor Project Manager for a registered provider in South Birmingham.

This role is a hybrid-position for a true community organisation, with the aim of delivering the surveying function for the Planning & Commissioning Team.

Starting asap, the Surveyor Project Manager role is full-time, assisting the Head of Asset Management to deliver the planned and cyclical programme contracts whilst ensuring they deliver value for money and high customer satisfaction.

The Surveyor Project Manager will be expected to:

* Produce technical advice, survey data, progress reports, quotes, tenders, material specifications, monthly budget statements and provide diagnostic advice

* Validate and undertake condition surveys, HHSRS surveys and DDA audits on internal and external domestic properties

* Advise on conditions relating to property condition, providing solutions to property issues and informing future programme of works

* Understand, analyse and act upon all aspects of customer feedback and performance relating to your programme delivery

* Attend meetings both internally and externally, liaising with other teams and external agencies at a senior level

* Deliver effective management and monitoring of health and safety on site

* Ensure the clear demonstration of compliance with all relevant regulations, ACOPS and guidance to meet our legal and moral obligations within the designated programmes for delivery

* Carry out initial assessments in respect of asbestos and re-inspection of known asbestos containing materials

* Monitor the use and performance of main contractors and sub-contractors including site inspections, costs, value for money and customer satisfaction

* Manage external Contractors and programme works allocated to the Maintenance team in line with contract management procedures and subject to any specific contract requirements.

The following is required to secure the Surveyor Project Manager post:

* Substantial and extensive experience in Asset Management or acting as a maintenance professional

* Experience of carrying out stock condition surveys to properties and communal areas including HHSRS and decent homes assessments

* Good understanding of best practice in relation to contract management within a planned capital property investment context

* Thorough and detailed knowledge of health and safety law in relation to capital delivery projects. Management experience within a multi-discipline compliance team and varied building portfolio.

* Demonstrable knowledge of building safety and fire legislation / consultations
