The Research Director leads strategic research initiatives and manages teams of research scientists and engineers working on cutting-edge technologies, particularly in areas of machine learning, generative AI, model compression, optimization, on-device deployment, and emerging technologies that align with Samsung's long-term vision and product ecosystem.

As a Research Director at Samsung AI Center, you will:
Craft and implement long-term research visions aligned with Samsung's business objectives and product roadmap.
Guide diverse teams of research scientists, engineers, and interns, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Translate Research into Impact : Collaborate with product teams to transform research breakthroughs into practical applications and commercial solutions.
Oversee Complex Projects : Manage multiple research projects from conception to publication, deployment, and commercialization.
Drive Innovation : Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, ensuring Samsung remains a leader in emerging technologies.

PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or related field.
Extensive post-PhD research experience with a strong publication record in top-tier venues.
Proven leadership experience managing research teams of 10+ members.
Track record of translating research innovations into real-world products or business impact.
Deep knowledge in AI/ML, including large language models, generative AI, computer vision, and edge computing.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems, model optimization, and on-device deployment.
Strategic thinking with the ability to set long-term research visions.
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships across global teams.
