Senior/Principal Radiological Safety Assessor - Permanent - Remote/Hybrid Are you a talented Nuclear Safety professional seeking a new challenge? They are seeking Radiological Safety Assessors at Senior or Principal level to join their team. They are happy to consider remote and hybrid roles for the right candidate, but access to office locations can be offered in Warrington and Whitehaven (Cumbria) Salaries Senior - £50-65k per annum plus benefits Principal - £65-75k per annum plus benefits The Role: As a Principal Radiological Safety Assessor, you will be responsible for the delivery of nuclear safety projects and tasks, ensuring they are on budget and meeting the client's satisfaction whilst also taking the technical lead in the preparation of nuclear safety cases and supporting documentation. Responsibilities

  • Leading hazard identification workshops (e.g. HAZOP)
  • Use of Claims/Arguments/Evidence techniques or other similar tools to clearly articulate safety case arguments
  • Liaison with engineering, plant operators and other specialist safety disciplines, e.g.
  • Human Factors, Fire, Criticality, Radiological Shielding, Environmental, to present coherent and comprehensive safety cases
  • Liaison between the clients and regulatory bodies
  • Maintaining and developing excellent relationships with clients
  • Managing more junior of consultants to support delivery of the project and providing technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Recognising opportunities for business and service development
  • Supporting business and service development
Ideal skills and experience
  • Highly skilled and experienced nuclear safety consultant
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • High expertise in nuclear safety techniques
  • Experienced in safety case production
  • In depth knowledge of relevant UK regulations and standards
  • A degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, e.g. Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control/ Electrical Engineering
  • Sufficient and appropriate post-graduate relevant experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent customer service manner with strong listening and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible in approach to support effective delivery
