Location: Manchester Business Area: Transportation, Kier Professional Services (KPS) Contract: Full Time, Permanent What will your responsibilities be? As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll be working within the Kier Professional Services (KPS) team, supporting them in with the delivery of a broad range of mechanical and electrical projects predominately within the water sector and working on large pumping stations . You will also contribute to the delivery of more complex services by providing solutions which are safe and buildable (in both their temporary and permanent states) Your day to day will include:

  • Manage the development of fee proposals, agreeing the technical requirements of the client remit, ensuring it is fully understood, questioning, and advising where necessary
  • Organise and Manage the day-to-day workload of engineers and technical staff within the design team, ensuring technical compliance of the design to the remit
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and Company policies/procedures, including CDM Regulations, the Kier SHE Management System (SHEMS) and design Quality Management System (QMS)
What are we looking for? This role of Principal Mechanical Engineer is great for you if:
  • Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., CEng MICE)
  • Several years of postgraduate experience
  • Valid CSCS card and full driving licence
