DeepOcean has an exciting opportunity for a Project Technical Manager to join the team on a permanent staff basis, located in our Aberdeen office. As a member of the Engineering Department, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced, challenging but rewarding environment as we transform and grow our business into a world-leading ocean services provider, enabling the energy transition and sustainable use of ocean resources. You will be responsible for delivery of all technical aspects throughout the project or tender life cycle. Duties and responsibilities Work with the Project Manager/Lead Engineers to ensure that work is conducted in a timely manner. Lead the engineering team consisting of Lead Engineers, Senior Engineers, Project Engineers and graduates along with subcontractors and/or consultants in projects, tenders or studies daily. Delivery of commercially and technically optimized solutions that are aligned with the client and DeepOcean expectations. Perform engineering tasks according to the Engineering Procedure in a safe and accurately manner. Ensure that clients receive sufficient documentation and updates on progress, within given deadlines. Develop and seek to improve methodologies, solutions, procedures, schedule, and other project documentation. Lead the technical planning and support execution of marine operations. Participate in offshore operations as required as part of offshore team for key scopes and operations. Perform tasks appointed by the Line Manager or Project Manager. Act as deputy for Project Manager if required. Share and demonstrate special competence/knowledge with colleagues. Liaise with HSEQS to ensure all project/tender specific HSEQS requirements are met and all necessary documentation is completed. In cooperation with Lead Engineer, Engineering Coordinator and Engineering Manager; ensure that the project/tender is adequately manned with respect to engineering resources. Support the development of junior engineers within the team. Responsible for personal development plans of allocated engineers to grow their competence and expertise. Qualifications and experience Higher Education Degree/Master/Bachelor (or equivalent) in relevant engineering or science subject or extensive and company assessed experience within actual area. A minimum of 13 years relevant experience in industry related role. Demonstrable line manager experience and ability to lead, support, develop and inspire engineers at all levels. Extensive experience in the delivery of a broad range of subsea construction / decommissioning projects, from tender phase through to offshore execution. Experienced in managing multi-discipline engineering teams and subcontractors to deliver complex subsea work scopes. Familiar with commercial and contractual delivery models commonly used within the subsea industry. Direct experience working for a subsea vessel contractor is preferable. Planning and execution of marine operations according to industry standards. ROV and subsea operations. Excellent time management. Good verbal and written communication. Ability to take initiative. Attention to detail. Flexible. Act as ambassador for the Company when dealing with colleagues, clients and other external personnel. We can offer Competitive terms.
