Drama Teacher (Maternity Cover) To start September 2024 Lambrook is looking to appoint a Drama Teacher to cover Maternity Leave from September onwards. The successful candidate will teacher children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 as well as leading after-school Drama clubs for Pre-prep Reception – Year 2 and Musical Theatre club for Prep years 3 to 8. At Lambrook, Drama is an essential and enjoyable part of our school curriculum. Under the guidance of a specialist drama teacher, all pupils in the Prep School partake in weekly drama lessons. These sessions are designed to nurture creativity, imagination, communication, and clarity of expression in our pupils. Additionally, pupils in years 3 – 8 are offered the exciting opportunity to participate in one-to-one LAMDA sessions, further enhancing their theatrical skills. Full-scale performances take place throughout the year as well as many other concerts/ competitions to create ample performance opportunities. To extend our drama programme; we also host after-school Drama clubs for Pre-prep Reception-Year 2 and a Musical Theatre club for Prep years 3-8. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be required:

  • To take responsibility for teaching Drama to children in Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 as per the timetabled schedule.
  • To plan, prepare, lead, and deliver engaging Drama lessons that align with the school's curriculum objectives and foster a love for the dramatic arts.
  • To work collaboratively with the Performing Arts team, ensuring continuity and progression within the subject.
  • To provide guidance and support to students preparing for LAMDA examinations, helping them navigate the exam process and achieve their full potential.
  • To assist in the coordination of School shows and performances.
  • To lead after-school Drama clubs.
  • To assess students' progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development in drama.
  • Submit grades and reports accurately and promptly, keeping records up to date.
  • To communicate effectively with parents, keeping them informed about their child's progress and Involvement in drama activities.
  • To attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school events as required, actively contributing to the school community.
  • To attend all appropriate First Aid, Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Child Protection training as required by the School and Department.
