Climbing the procurement ladder, particularly at a junior level, can often be slow and uninspiring, with few chances to engage in major projects. This expansion has cemented their reputation for procurement excellence. Now, they are on the lookout for a driven Direct Procurement Category Buyer to join their elite team and propel their pursuit of best-in-class status.

You'll gain invaluable experience that positions you to thrive in any organization, with previous placement progressing to category manager status within 18-24 months,

As an indirect Procurement Category Buyer, you will:

  • Support the end-to-end procurement process across their Soft Facilities sub-category - including but not limited to sourcing, contracting, supplier relationship management, and award recommendations.
  • Collaborate with pivotal stakeholders to identify the company's needs and support the consequential development of effective category management strategies.
  • Unlock opportunities for commercial growth through market and spend data analysis, presenting your findings to assist in category planning and sourcing strategizing.

Indirect Procurement Category Buyer requirements:

  • Good experience working within a procurement function. (Ideally FMCG or Retail, but this is not required)
  • Exposure to the contracting and tendering process, including drafting, and negotiating. Any knowledge of contract law or contracting terminology is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Good academic background, having studied to A-Level standard, and ideally have obtained a degree.

This is a hybrid role, where you will be based 3 days a week (or as many more as you prefer) at their headquarters in the West Midlands, and the rest from home.
